We’re so glad you’ve joined us at FORWRD-ATX!

Who We Are:

We’re a group of women in Austin, Texas, who decided to stop waiting for someone else to defend our democracy.

So we gathered around the kitchen table and told two friends, who told two friends, who told two friends. . .

And now we are 700+ strong and growing.

The World We are Working to Build:

A WORLD …

• Where human dignity and individual liberty are non-negotiable.

• Where all children are safe and protected.

• Where we confront the truth about our nationʼs history, and work together to fix whatʼs still broken.

• Where our community ties are stronger than the well-funded forces trying to divide us.

• Where our elected officials remember their oath to serve the people, not reward their campaign donors.

What we Are NOT:

WE ARE NOT …

• Replicating what already exists.

• Waiting for elected representatives to save us.

• Bound by tired partisan narratives or structures.

• Doing this alone.

• Seeking a return to “the way things were.ˮ

• Letting fear overwhelm or paralyze us.

Our Secret Sauce

We know that personal relationships drive transformation and that women view,
embody, and share power in ways that are essential in this moment. Our goal is
to "let 1,000 flowers bloom," so every member can share ideas and find willing
partners in the work.  

FORWRD-ATX:

• Is organizing ourselves, not building an organization.

• Is built through organic personal relationships.

• Is growing through word-of-mouth. 

• Uses a shared leadership model.

• Empowers every member to do what they can, an inch or a mile.

• Encourages creativity, joy, and restoration.
