UPDATE: Where's McCaul? Town Hall

Our First Project Together

Based on guidance from Congressional experts, we’ve decided to postpone our “Where’s McCaul” Empty Chair Town Hall until the April recess, April 11-27. That will give us time to plan an event with even greater impact!

CAN YOU HELP?
While we will have much work to do planning and executing a successful event, we need YOUR help to find a venue in McCaul’s District 10, which is heavily gerrymandered: https://www.congress.gov/member/district/michael-mccaul/M001157

That means calling churches and other event spaces to ask about their availability and their capacity. For 3 people? It’s a Herculean task. For 30 people? It’s a couple of phone calls!

If you have time to help or a venue to suggest, please get in touch with Amy Webberman.

REMINDERWHY McCAUL
Rep. McCaul hasn’t hosted an in-person town hall in nearly 10 years. He has been one of Ukraine’s closest allies in the Republican Party, even leading a delegation there in 2023, but has been cagey in his limited public comments since Trump’s pro-Putin turn against Ukraine.

He also just voted in favor of the GOP’s cruel budget framework that allows Trump and Elon Musk to continue slashing the federal services his constituents rely on. As one of Congress’ wealthiest members, that means McCaul’s voting to cut his own taxes at the expense of his constituents.

We think we should make this harder for him.

We’ll update you on our progress during our upcoming meeting on April 3 at the Griffin School, and we’ll hold a breakout session for planning this event. (Please RSVP for the meeting here.)

Let’s make good trouble together!
