1. Fight Redistricting.
ASAP! They’re moving as fast as they can — maybe even voting later this evening, after today’s public hearing (which you can watch here).
The Texas GOP is stealing power directly from you and me and all of us. Under their proposal, Travis County will be split into four different districts that stretch from the Texas Gulf Coast to west of Odessa. ‼️
We need to keep fighting until there’s nothing left to fight. Tell them how you feel about their corrupt power grab. (If you’re looking for inspiration on what to say, here’s our version, and here’s a useful round-up of info. Don’t worry about the details, keep it short, and make it personal.)

Their shitty map makes it even more important for us to focus on next year’s midterms. While most experts believe that the Texas GOP has surgically moved voters in ways that will guarantee them a pickup of five seats, their schemes can be thwarted through massive voter turnout.
Where could these neighborhood groups lead us, in six months or a year? Could we build a network that can has the power to increase voter turnout and spread into Austin’s redder suburbs?
Our mantra at FORWRD-ATX has always been “might as well try,” and this is no exception. We hope to see you this Monday at Fresa’s, next Monday at one of TWO locations in North Austin … and at our happy hour on the 14th!
Let’s invite our people, get out in the streets, and build some power!

We can do this, y’all.
3. Prepare to MELT ICE
This Tuesday evening at 6 pm, we’ll host a virtual training with VECINA aimed at bringing all of us up to speed on the latest strategies and tactics ICE is using in Central Texas — along with ways we can get involved to support our vulnerable neighbors. Please RSVP here to get the link to the training!

“At least under Biden, the wasps weren’t radioactive ….”

“Workers at a site in South Carolina that once made key parts for nuclear bombs in the U.S. have found a radioactive wasp nest … the nest had a radiation level 10 times what is allowed by federal regulations.”
